Privacy Policy
TRUST AND TRANSPARENCY
When you use Material Drop (MDROP, or “we,” “us,” etc.) for the first – or fiftieth – time to order or deliver construction merchandise, odds are that you will be working with someone you haven’t before. It takes trust to make that kind of situation work, and it’s paramount that we earn and maintain your trust. A big part of that is striving for transparency whenever possible with our drivers, suppliers, and customers, and this Privacy Statement is an effort to be as transparent as possible about your personal information.
When you visit our website, use our app, contact one of our team members, register as a driver, supplier, or customer, move product from one place to another, or accept a delivery, we will receive personal information about you. This Privacy Statement explains how we gather information, how we use it, and how we support your rights to your personal information.
This Privacy Statement applies to https://materialdrop.com/ and the MDROP mobile app and any MDROP websites or products that display these terms (collectively, the Platform). It does not apply to any website, mobile app, service, or product that does not display or link to this Privacy Statement or that contains its own privacy statement. This Privacy Statement applies to our treatment of personal information collected through our Platform. It also applies to personal information collected through offline interactions with us, such as phone calls with our team members.
EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA, SWITZERLAND, UNITED KINGDOM, OR CANADA RIGHTS
We currently do not make our services available outside the United States; specifically, our services are currently unavailable in the European Economic Area (EEA), including Switzerland and the United Kingdom (UK), nor do we make services available in Canada. We do not intend for our Platform to be accessed by individuals in those jurisdictions. In the event we make our products, Website, and app available to individuals located in those geographic areas, we will update these terms to ensure we reflect any additional rights reserved under applicable laws. Those updates will be made available within this Privacy Statement, in accordance with those regulations.
HOW WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may collect personal information from you directly or indirectly. When you register with us as a driver, supplier, or customer, for example, you provide personal information directly to us. We also use technologies, such as our app, that collect data (including personal information) automatically as you use them. Another example of automated, indirect data collection is our use of “cookies” on our Website. We also may collect personal information when you use third parties, such as social media, with whom we also work.
WE WILL NOT COLLECT INFORMATION FROM INDIVIDUALS YOUNGER THAN 16 YEARS OLD
We will never knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 16 years without prior verifiable parental consent. All services we offer are for individuals 16 or older. If we become aware that personal information of an individual younger than 16 has been provided to MDROP, for any purpose, without prior verifiable parental consent, we will delete the information from our files.
WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION WHEN YOU PROVIDE IT
When using our Platform, you may provide certain kinds of personal information directly by interacting with MDROP online and offline (via social media or Web forms, by phone, email – or even through regular old postal mail).
Website visitors: When filling out a form on our Website or making an inquiry for our services, you may provide us with your name and contact information, including phone number and email address. This includes inquiries about employment opportunities with MDROP beyond working as a contract driver.
Drivers: When you register for an account, you will provide your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, emergency contact information, age, proof of auto insurance, and information about your level of fitness directly related to the job. (You will need to be able to lift 100 pounds, for example.) You also will be required to provide a photo of yourself so that suppliers and customers can identify you during the delivery process. You will create a screen name and password or PIN, which we will use to authenticate your identity and provide you with access to your account. You also may provide answers to security questions and financial details, such as banking information, so that you can get paid.
Suppliers: When you register for an account, you will provide the name of your business, your physical address, a point of contact, and a phone number.
Customers: When you register for an account, you will provide your name, business name, delivery address, mailing address, phone number, and email address. You will create a screen name and password or PIN, which we will use to authenticate your identity and to provide you with access to your account. You will also provide financial account details, such as credit or payment card information, to complete your transaction.
WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM THIRD-PARTY SOURCES
We may collect personal information about you from third parties, such as online social networks when you click “Share This” buttons or use Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ to create or authenticate your account with us. We also may collect personal information when you click on other social media “like” buttons or plug-ins.
Note that any personal information collected by a third party, such as a social networking site, is handled based on their privacy practices rather than this statement.
WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION USING AUTOMATED TECHNOLOGIES
Sometimes personal information is collected by automated technologies and shared with us when Website visitors and app users navigate through our products and services online. We may track your browsing actions and log your IP address. Another example happens during the driver registration process, when device IDs (typically a phone or tablet) will be collected.
Automated collection technologies – such as cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts – are used by us to analyze trends, administer the Platform, and track users’ movements around the Platform. We, and our third-party vendors, also use these technologies to gather demographic information about our user base as individuals and in the aggregate.
A “cookie” is a small text file that is stored on an individual’s computer and downloaded to the computer or mobile device when he or she visits a website. Cookies then send information back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that same cookie. We use different types of cookies:
- Performance and Functional Cookies: Performance and functional cookies allow us to count visits and sources of traffic on our Website and app so we can measure and improve their performance and functionality. They help us know which pages of our Website are most and least popular, which features of the app are used most, and how visitors move around both the Website and app.
- Targeted Advertising Cookies: Advertising cookies may be set through our Website and app by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other sites.
- Social Media Cookies: These cookies allow you to share information using social media sharing buttons (such as the Facebook “Like”) on social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, or Twitter. This information may then be used by the social media network to deliver targeted advertising to you.
We may use cookies to aggregate personal information collected automatically with data (including personal information) previously stored from other interactions with our Website or app and third-party sites. We examine metrics, such as which pages you visit or features you use, which links you click on and resources you view, the performance of our marketing efforts, and your response to those marketing efforts. This allows us to provide the best delivery experience possible, as well as offer relevant and useful information to drivers, suppliers, and customers.
If you wish to opt out of allowing certain cookies, you may do so by changing your browser settings so that cookies from our Website or app cannot be set. Please note that if you delete, block or otherwise restrict cookies, or use a different computer or Internet browser, you will need to renew your cookie management choices. All of this technology is used to deliver a more relevant and convenient experience for you. You have the choice to refuse functional and/or advertising cookies by turning them off in your Internet browser. Note that if you change Internet browsers, you will need to make the same setting change in your new browser.
WE COLLECT GEOLOCATION INFORMATION
To keep MDROP services moving at top speed, suppliers and customers need to be able to see the movement of drivers and product so that sales and deliveries can be made most efficiently. This requires us to collect Geolocation information from drivers (or their mobile devices) that includes not only location of the vehicle but vehicle mileage, order points, and estimated times of arrival.
DO-NOT-TRACK REQUESTS
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” privacy preference. Generally, when a user turns on the Do Not Track Signal, their browser sends a message to websites requesting that the user not be tracked. Our Website and services currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION
There is no way around it: MDROP only works when we take your personal information and use it to improve our services, make deliveries more efficient, and cater to our drivers’ and customers’ needs. WHEN WE SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION
Once your personal information is collected, as detailed above, we sometimes share it with third parties for various reasons. Note that when we share your personal information with a third party, we require that third party to protect that information consistent with this policy and limit its use of that information to performing the services they provide to us.
TO DELIVER OUR SERVICES
Some personal information we collect, specifically in relation to our drivers, will need to be shared with both suppliers and customers. In addition to Geolocation information, which includes location of the vehicle, vehicle mileage, order points, and estimated times of arrival, we also will share photos of our drivers with suppliers and customers so that they can identify the driver for a particular order.
TO DELIVER OUR SERVICESWE WILL NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
The personal information we collect will not be sold, rented, or traded to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We intend to honor the trust you have placed in us when you share your personal information with us.

We may share your personal information with third-party service providers who help us with business operations, such as tracking transactions and routing, calculating fees and mileage, operating and supporting the Platform, performing Platform analytics, and marketing or consulting services. They also may help us prepare and distribute business and marketing communications.
We also use third-party payment processing services when you make a purchase from a supplier or get paid for making a delivery; MDROP does not process payment card information directly. The personal information those payment processors receive includes name, email address, mailing address, billing address, phone number, and payment card information. Your orders or agreement to deliver merchandise is deemed your consent to share this information.
WE USE TARGETED ADVERTISING
Some vendors that we use to help us operate our Platform or promote our products and services also serve ads on our behalf through the Internet. These third parties may use cookies to collect information about your Platform visits, as described in the Automated Technologies section of this Privacy Statement. They also may use information about your visits to our Platform to serve targeted advertisements that are relevant to you. Those may appear on other sites that you visit.
OUR VENDORS HELP WITH PLATFORM ANALYTICS, TOO

As a reminder, this Privacy Statement describes how we will treat your personal information once it is in our possession.
We recommend you review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit to understand the data collection and practices of that third party.
WE MAY SHARE FEEDBACK YOU PROVIDE TO US
Whether you’re a driver, supplier, or customer, we want to hear how we’re doing. If you have suggestions for improving our services, we want those as well. However, note that any feedback relating to our services on our Website, app, or on social media channels may be publicly shared.
EVENTUAL SUCCESSORS MAY ACCESS INFORMATION
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other sale of all or a portion of our assets, any user information owned or controlled by us may be among the assets transferred to third parties as successors in interest. As part of this type of transaction, we reserve the right to transfer or assign your personal information to third parties. Other than to the extent ordered by a bankruptcy or other court, or as otherwise agreed to by you, the use and disclosure of all transferred user information will be subject to this Privacy Statement.
WE NEED TO COMPLY WITH LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
We may disclose your information to government authorities or other third parties if any lawful circumstance arises, including when:
- You have given us permission to share your information;
- We are required to do so by law, or in response to a subpoena or court order;
- We believe in our sole discretion that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect against fraud, or to protect our property or other rights or those of other users of the Website, app, third parties, or the public at large; or
- We believe that you have misused the Website or app by using it to attack or gain unauthorized access to a system or to engage in spamming or other conduct that violates applicable laws or our Terms of Use.
HOW WE SECURE PERSONAL INFORMATION
With all the moving parts that make MDROP work, giving us your personal information might feel intimidating. Rest assured, we have implemented industry accepted administrative, physical, and technology-based securing measures to protect against loss, misuse, and alteration of personal information in our systems. We ensure that any employee, contractor, or vendor who has access to personal information in our systems is subject to contractual and professional obligations to safeguard that personal information.
We use a third-party payment processor compliant with PCI DSS requirements and that uses SSL/TLS 1.2 (Secure Sockets Layer) technology to encrypt your order information, such as your name, address, and credit card number, during data transmission.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or form of electronic storage is 100 percent secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
